Storm Assessment — Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

Storm Assessment is a mobile damage-reporting app published by Silver Creek Services LLC. It is used by utility and storm-restoration crews to record storm damage in the field and send it to their own company’s dashboard. This policy explains what the app collects and what happens to it.

What the app collects

  • Your account. Your email address and password, used to sign you in. Accounts are created by the company you work for — you do not register yourself.
  • What you put in a report. The name and phone number you enter, the damage severity you select, your description and notes, other utilities involved, and any additional fields your company has configured on its report form.
  • Location. GPS latitude and longitude, captured only when you tap Get GPS on a report. The app requests location only while it is open and does not track you in the background.
  • Photos. Photos you take with the camera and attach to a report. The first photo on a report is sent with it; any others stay on your device.
  • Dictation. When you tap a microphone button, your speech is converted to text using Apple’s speech recognition, which may send the audio to Apple for processing. Only the resulting text becomes part of your report. We do not record, keep, or transmit audio ourselves.

What we do with it

Report data is sent to the dashboard belonging to the company that issued your account, so that company can review the damage you reported and act on it. Account information is used to sign you in and to keep your reports attached to the right company.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and the app contains no advertising or third-party analytics trackers.

Who can see it

Each company using Storm Assessment has its own separate account, and its reports are visible only to that company. No company can see another company’s data. Silver Creek Services LLC operates the service and its staff may access data where necessary to run, support, or troubleshoot it.

How long it is kept

Reports stay in your company’s account until your company deletes them. Reports you have saved but not yet sent are stored on your own device, and are removed from it once they send successfully.

Your choices

  • You can refuse or revoke location, camera, photo and microphone access in the iOS Settings app. The app still works without them, but reports will not carry coordinates or photos.
  • You can sign out from the app’s Settings screen at any time.
  • To ask what data is held about you, or to have it corrected or deleted, contact your company’s administrator, or write to us at the address below and we will work with them.

Security

Traffic between the app and the dashboard uses HTTPS. Your sign-in credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. Passwords are stored only in hashed form on the server.

Children

Storm Assessment is a workplace tool intended for working crews. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
